What is All That Glows Highlighter

While strobing and highlighting are fairly new trends in the world of makeup, the idea behind them has been around since the days of ancient Greece and Rome, when women used to apply metals like gold and silver to their faces to highlight their skin natural radiance.

These days, with the invention of makeup such as All That Glows Makeup Highlighter Liquid, you can re-create that same effect at home, or whenever you want to give your face a little extra something special. But how exactly does it work? Let’s find out!

      How to use highlighters

Step 1. When putting on makeup for a special occasion, make sure you’re using the best makeup highlighter that will compliment your skin tone.

Step 2. Take your product and apply it to your cheekbones, nose, and cupid’s bow. You can blend it using either your fingers or a beauty blender for a more natural glow. Don’t forget to add a shimmery highlight on top of your upper eyelids and at the center of your forehead!

      Why are they so popular?

All that glows makeup highlighter liquid are popular because they offer a subtle and natural glow that's perfect for everyday wear. By combining highlighters with a makeup primer, you can add just enough light and color to your face while also locking in your makeup for an all-day finish.

And, if you’re planning on hitting a night out, add some glitter to amp up your glow and instantly make your makeup pop. I recommend using cream highlighters as opposed to powder; not only do they look more natural but they also feel lighter on your skin and don’t go on too thick or heavy.

      Should you use them?

While some makeup aficionados swear by liquid makeup highlighter, it's best to stick with subtlety if you want to use them in your everyday routine. First, be aware that there are several different types of highlighters in today's market. Some women (and men) like an intense spotlight effect that borders on pain and these products deliver just that. But most people prefer a lighter look and feel.

      My favorite highlighters

In terms of your undertones, it is a lot easier than you might think. You’re either warm or cool. Warm skin tones are made up of yellow and red pigments, so their undertones lean more toward pink and gold. Cool skin tones contain green and blue pigments, so they have more rose and lavender hues.

If you're unsure about your exact tone, many tricks can help you discover your undertone as well. For example, if an orange makeup shade looks too pink on you when blended out, then you probably have cool undertones. If a peach-toned makeup highlighter kit makes your skin look dewy with a rosy glow when blended out, then you probably have warm undertones.

How to find your perfect shade

Finding your perfect highlighter makeup kit is all about trial and error. There’s no formula for determining which hue will look best on you—it all depends on skin tone and personal preference. Start by swiping a few different colors on your wrist and checking out your skin tone in natural light; if there’s not enough contrast, try a darker shade, while a too-high level of brightness will wash you out. For an even more foolproof option, apply only a dab under your cheekbones or eyebrow arch so you can see how it interacts with natural light before using it all over.

Why use All That Glows Highlighter

Makeup highlighter brush and foundation go hand in hand. If you want to bring out your best features, let that glow shine through! Whether it's highlighting cheekbones or making your nose and forehead look slimmer, an expertly applied highlighter can help give a more polished appearance.

When choosing which product is right for you, it’s important to consider what color will best complement your skin tone. Highlighters come in a variety of colors from pale pink to golden yellow, so no matter what shade you prefer there will be something for you on our list! And if you are looking for an extra radiant look All That Glows Highlighter has just what you need.

What All That Glows Highlighter does

All That Glows Gold Highlighter Makeup gives you a beautiful, angelic glow. It can be applied on your cheekbones for a more dramatic effect, on your eyes for an intense look, or on your brow bones for a subtle touch. There are seven different colors available and each one complements every skin tone.

Most people love how natural All That Glows Highlighter looks and say that it's very easy to apply; however, some women might find it difficult because they haven't used highlighters before and they need some practice to get their desired look.

How to use All That Glows Highlighter

If you’re new to All That Glows Cosmetics makeup highlighter powder, you might be confused about the best way to use them in your makeup routine. If you’re an experienced user of the company’s products, then you already know that there are dozens of uses for these highlighters, but it never hurts to refresh your memory!

Whether you use these highlighters by themselves or with another product, we’ve created this list of 10 ways to use All That Glows Highlighter. Check it out, and see what new tricks you can learn!

      1) As an eyeshadow base

The most obvious way to use your new makeup highlighter stick is as an eyeshadow base. Just apply it all over your lid with a brush or sponge applicator, and then blend over it with a powder eyeshadow (or liquid if you're adventurous). It will help your shadows last longer and add a little sparkle without overpowering them—which is great since sometimes even those of us who love glitter just want a little something for extra shine.

      2) To highlight cheekbones

All That Glows Best Makeup Highlighter In India up to your cheekbones. This will give you a radiant glow while also defining your face's shape. It creates a sharp, contoured look that can be further perfected with blush, bronzer, or eyeshadow. And if you want a little more subtle highlight, just tap a bit of highlighter on your temples for a less intense look.

      3) To highlight your cupid's bow

Using a brush or angled powder brush, take a small amount of product and gently place it on your cupid's bow. Using a clean, fluffy blending brush (or your finger) apply pressure in small circular motions until you see your skin glow with radiance. Don't forget to highlight beneath your eyes as well! You can use All That Glows Illuminating Powder for even more radiance.

      4) As a blush topper

This makeup highlighter is great for getting that radiant, glowy look! You can use it over your favorite blush or just lightly dab some on your cheeks for a natural, dewy complexion. You could also try mixing it with your foundation for a sheer, subtle glow.

If you’re looking for a more intense highlight effect though, apply on top of powdered highlighters instead of liquid or cream ones. Make sure you blend well so you don’t have any visible edges and avoid going too heavy on application—you don’t want your face to look oily as high shine is already pretty reflective!

      5) To achieve that I-was-Just-Caught-in-the-Rain look

Spray your face evenly with a moisturizer and faces Canada Glow Highlighter, then apply one swipe of highlighter under each eye. The wetness of your skin will let it sink right in and give you a just-freshened look—no brush required. You can also use it as an eyeshadow base if you'd rather not go for a full-on glow, but want something less obvious than nude shadow. Just make sure you blend well, or else you'll end up looking like a panda.

      6) In the inner corner of your eyes

Brightening the inner corners of your eyes can add instant brightness to your whole face. The Faces Canada Highlighter will mimic the light reflecting off of water and snow, resulting in a more refreshed look for you.

      7) On your eyelids as a shadow instead of eyeliner

This is a great way to make your eyes pop. Put down that sharpie and instead dab on some makeup highlighter with a synthetic brush for a subtle glow that’s anything but wimpy.

Be sure to check out our How To: Apply Eye Shadow video for tips on applying it to your lids. Tip: Make sure you use a very light hand when applying since highlighters can easily overpower your natural features if you don't watch them! We recommend dusting it all over first, then taking what's left and concentrating on highlighting areas like your tear duct, brow bone, and inner corner of your eye.

      8) To create gradient lips (with over a hundred Instagram uses!)

Start by outlining your lips in a medium shade with Your Lips But Better. Then, swipe some of The One Blush over your lip liner. Add a little Gloss To Go on top of that, and blend everything so that you get an ombre effect (don't worry about being precise!).

Finish off with Some Kind-A Gorgeous on top for shine and more dimension. Bonus points if you finish it off with our Contour Eye Pencil! The one shadow used in this look will make up half of your new palette, but we'll show you even more things you can do with it...

      9) For women with darker skin tones

Do you know how it's really hard to find a highlighter that matches your skin tone? We did too, so we made our own. It has yellow undertones, which means it’s perfect for darker skin tones. Try applying a bit of highlighter along your cheekbones for an all-natural glow. Or use it as an eyeshadow primer to brighten up any eyeshadow look you create!

How to apply All That Glows Highlighter from the stick

As any cosmetic enthusiast knows, there are tons of ways to highlight your beautiful skin and bring out your best features with products like concealers, blushes, bronzers, and highlighters. One type of product that isn't quite as obvious, but just as important to your makeup routine, is the highlighter stick. We’ve chosen our favorite one here at All That Glows—it's versatile, long-lasting, and worth the investment! Here's how to use it from start to finish.

      What is it?

Applying glow to the skin can make you look radiant and bring out your inner beauty. Some even claim that by applying a highlighter to specific areas of your face—the bridge of your nose, between brows, cupid’s bow, cheekbones, and temples—you can narrow your face shape. We're not sure how legit that claim is, but we do know how to use a highlighter stick in a way that will make you (and those around you) feel amazing.

      Who is it For?

The darkest shades of highlighters are perfect for women with deeper skin tones who want to add a touch of natural glow to their complexion. While these aren’t as light and glittery as some other highlighters on the market, they’re best suited for nighttime looks. The shimmer will be more apparent once applied because it won't get lost in your makeup as lighter hues would. These shades work well on brown, black, and olive complexions.

Step 1 - Prep Your Skin with Primer

Prime your skin to create a smooth and even surface for application. Ensure your foundation and concealer are also blended well and there are no streaks or patchy areas of color.

Step 2 - Apply Under Base Makeup

Dab a little bit of highlighter on your cheekbones and in your inner corners. You don’t need much at all! Also, if you have certain areas (like around your nose) that get oily throughout the day, dot a tiny bit of powder there to keep it from glistening.

Step 3 - Blend Slowly Into Your Skincare Routine

If you’re just getting started with a skincare routine, begin by blending a small amount of The All That Glows Highlighter Stick into your daily moisturizer. You can also use it on top of foundation or in combination with concealer for an all-over glow.

It's sheer enough to blend easily and lightweight enough not to add extra layers to your skin! We recommend gently tapping your brush or fingers directly onto The All That Glows Highlighter Stick.

Step 4 - Set the Illuminating Effect with Powder Highlighter

After applying a cream highlighter, follow with your favorite setting powder to keep things looking natural. The goal is for it to look like your skin—only brighter and more radiant—so choose a powder that complements your foundation color.

Here, we recommend Faces Canada. Its light-reflecting properties don’t detract from what you just applied under or over it, but add luminosity to complement whatever makeup look you're going for.

How to apply All That Glows Highlighter with a brush

All That Glows highlighter gives you that natural, luminous glow that everyone wants! But to get the most out of this gorgeous product, we suggest applying it with a brush rather than your fingers or a sponge. This approach can give you a more natural-looking highlight while still maintaining its brightness and vibrancy. Here’s how you do it

      Step 1: Prep your skin

Before you apply any highlighter at all, it's important to prep your skin first. First, cleanse and moisturize as necessary, then use a primer. This will give your makeup something to stick to and keep everything smooth.

      Step 2: Choose your glow

The most important step in applying a highlighter is choosing which shade to use. For most people, I recommend choosing a highlighter that closely matches your skin tone. If you are very fair-skinned or have extremely light hair and eye colors, you might want to go one shade lighter (but don’t choose anything so light that it looks gray). If you are dark-skinned or have darker hair and eyes, you can go a shade darker—but again, not so dark that it looks gray.

Step 3: Swirl, Tap & Buff

Swirl your brush into the makeup highlighter product in circular motions until you have enough on your brush. Tap excess powder off  your brush. Buff product onto the skin using a gentle patting motion starting from the center of your face and working outward. Start by applying a highlighter down your nose, across cheekbones, and above Cupid's bow (on top of lips).

Spread product in an X pattern out towards the hairline and ears, making sure to blend well between colors. Follow up by setting your look with translucent powder or finishing spray. For best results: Use in combination with our Luminizer Brush & Contour Kit or Luminizer Bronzer Brush & Contour Kit! Be sure to always tap excess powder off of brushes before application!

Step 4: Blend into the hollows of your cheeks

Blend from your nose outward toward your ears and also down into your chin area. Your face naturally has high points and low points, so blend in an up-and-down motion as well as a side-to-side. This will give you an even glow on all areas of your face.

Be sure to cover any exposed skin (such as around your hairline), but don't worry about getting a highlighter on everything since it's going to blend into everything else anyway. If you feel like you have too much highlighter on one section of the skin or if you accidentally get some under your eyes, use concealer to clean it up!

Step 5: Accentuate your Cupid's bow

The center of your upper lip is naturally more defined than other parts of your face. To make it stand out even more, apply a makeup highlighter just above it and blend softly up toward your nose.

If you have thin lips and not much of a cupid's bow, focus on emphasizing its shape by gently tracing around its edges or by defining it further with lip liner. You can also use the highlighter as an alternative method to wear lipstick: Simply paint some onto your lower lip and use a darker shade on top—your cupid's bow will magically appear!

All That Glows Highlighter tips and tricks

Before you can create the perfect smoky eye or trendy side-swept bangs, you have to learn how to highlight and contour your face. Highlighting and contouring are often thought of as the same, but there's a key difference between the two. Contouring draws attention to features that need to be emphasized on your faces, such as your cheekbones or nose, while highlighting works with your natural features to emphasize the best parts of your face, such as your cheekbones or eyebrows.

      Blend Into Your Foundation

A highlighter works well on its own, but sometimes it's even better to make it look like you aren't wearing anything at all. This can be a great alternative if you want to glow from within without looking like you slathered your face in a makeup highlighter.

Use your foundation as a means of blending out any excess product; just dab some liquid or cream highlighter along your cheekbones or temples before blending it into your skin with your fingers or a brush. Just make sure not to use too much, otherwise, you might end up making things worse instead of better! On top of that, don't forget about powder.

      Prevent Streaking

An uneven highlight will make your face look like a Picasso painting. It’s crucial to blend, blend, blend as you apply makeup highlighter to get an even application.

For example, use a stippling brush or your fingers to dot on highlighter in strategic places like your cheekbones, bridge of nose, forehead, and chin. Then lightly dab or pat it into your skin with a fan brush. You can also try mixing some moisturizer into your highlighter before applying it; that'll help keep things from looking too powdery.

      Mix with Other Products

This step is optional but recommended. If you have dry skin, your highlighter may be too shimmery or intense to apply on its own. Try mixing your makeup highlighter with moisturizer to make it easier to apply without looking cakey or accentuating wrinkles.

Alternatively, you can layer a cream blush over your powder highlighter. By mixing two different products, you'll create a customized highlighting combination that works best for your skin type. Most cream blushes don't contain oils, so they won't change how well your highlighter adheres to skin--but they'll give you a nice dose of hydration while keeping pores looking small and flat! For extra dewy results, top off your highlight with facial oil instead of face cream.

      Choose the Right Color

We love using all that glows highlighters to create subtle, natural-looking makeup looks, but it’s easy to overdo them if you’re not careful. An easy way to make sure you don’t go overboard is by focusing your application on your favorite features.

For example, instead of applying makeup highlighter across your entire face, focus on areas like cheekbones and brow bones; they are often neglected when it comes to highlighting! If you must use a blush with shimmer in it, apply it more heavily to these areas so they can pop while other areas have a slight glow.

      Don’t Overdo It

When applying a makeup highlighter, it's easy to go overboard and end up looking like a disco ball. To apply a highlighter properly, you want to focus on applying a lighter shade just below your cheekbones, one in the center of your nose, on your brow bone, along the inner corner of your eyes, and above where your top liner ends.

Using an angled brush, lightly sweep or blend in small circular motions. If you find that your makeup is looking too cakey after applying a highlighter or foundation over it, try dusting some translucent powder on top before you apply concealer. This will help ensure that any excess oil is controlled and will stop your makeup from looking too shiny later in the day.

      Finish With a Beauty Sponge

If you want to achieve a glowing, youthful look with your makeup highlighter, it's important to start with a great base—then apply carefully. Many people prefer applying a highlighter before foundation so that they have full control over where it goes.

However, if you have oily skin, you might prefer to wait until after your foundation or BB cream is on; that way you can use a brush or beauty sponge instead of fingers. This will ensure that your highlights don’t get lost in an already shiny face. If you choose to apply under foundation, just make sure to blend well—it’s best not to go in heavy-handed with highlighters unless you know what kind of finish your foundation offers!

      All That Glows Highlighter hacks

If you’re using an illuminating makeup highlighter pencil, try mixing it with your foundation or concealer before blending it in. Just take a little bit of product on your finger and mix in a bit of highlighting highlighter. The result will be an effortless glow that works for everyday wear (especially because you won’t have to worry about applying too much).

For those who prefer liquid or powder highlighters, mix them into your moisturizer or foundation. Then apply like usual! Alternatively, you can also try mixing different shades; one warm tone paired with one cool shade will create a more natural look than two competing colors. Finally, there are tons of other hacks out there!

How to remove All That Glows Highlighter

The All That Glows Highlighter sticks to your skin, like makeup, so you want to work at removing it. Avoid rubbing harshly or using soap. Instead, swipe a damp washcloth over your skin. If that doesn’t remove all of it, try an oil-based makeup remover. A good one is Faces Canada Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil; mix a few drops with some moisturizer to make a paste and rub that on to remove any remaining highlighter residue. Let your face air dry before touching anything.

      FAQs

      Does it have a mirror?

For many, highlighting is a total mystery. How much should you apply? Where? When? Luckily, Faces canada latest product puts all your questions to rest. Its super creamy formula is housed in a mirror that flips open — so applying it is as easy as just flipping it back! Here's how to master highlighting your best features with a brand new compact makeup highlighter.

      Is the highlighter transfer-proof?

We know, we know—we’re excited about all of our highlighters too. But when you’re wearing your favorite shade on your cheeks or brow bone, it would be a real bummer if the color transferred onto something else (like your hand) the first time you touched up. Thankfully, Faces Canada highlighters are transfer-proof, which means they'll keep their color without leaving behind any residue on anything but your skin. Even if you rub them with the oil! The Color Source Buildable Blush will transfer if you rub it off with a paper towel after blending. Just...don’t do that?

      Is it easily blendable?

It’s a makeup highlighter. Of course, it's blendable! But just because it’s easy to blend doesn’t mean you should apply your highlighter without giving any thought to where on your face you want to highlight. If you have oily skin, opt for highlighting near your hairline or on your cheekbones if they fall above an oily T-zone.

If you have dry skin, try highlighting in places that naturally catch the light like around your eyes or below cheekbones if they drop down toward a drier area of skin. When in doubt, go brighter instead of denser; bright highlights are almost always more flattering than too much product.
